Research Cell
The Research Cell of YCMOU is established in 1994. It is the nodal unit of YCMOU for the conducting research programmes of the University. It operates under the guidance of the Research Council. The research degree programmes of batch 2019 have an enrolment of 64 scholars registered in five disciplines under various Schools of the University.
With initial focus on distance education and related areas, the ambit of research work in the University has been expanded to include both theoretical and empirical research in various academic disciplines and interdisciplinary areas. YCMOU conducts only PhD programme in regular mode in compliance of UGC Regulations as amended from time to time. A principal objective of YCMOU’s research programme has been to maintain a strong focus on the flow of theoretical ideas and to connect it with the empirical works of subject oriented researches in Education, Distance Education, Sciences, Social sciences, Humanities, Commerce and Management, Agriculture and other disciplines offered by the University as areas of probe and investigation from time to time.
The research cell has devised broad Guidelines for Research degree programmes covering different aspects pertaining to admission, course work, research supervision and evaluation, Anti Plagiarism measures, Award of Degree, Uploading of thesis on INFLIBNET- Shodhganga and award of Fellowships/scholarships/Minor research projects, organize and participation in seminars /conferences/ workshops etc. The Research Scholars are governed by Ordinance/Regulations/Guidelines of the University. In order to orient the Scholars with the Research Regulations/ Guidelines & course work the respective school conducts Induction Programme/Course work for newly admitted Research Scholars.
YCMOU has instituted silver jubilee Research Fellowship under which financial assistance was provided to researchers working on fulltime basis at YCMOU. A selected Ph D scholar has been awarded fellowship @25000/- per month for a period of five years. The research Scholars are selected by a selection Committee, duly constituted by the competent authority for the award of YCMOU-Fellowship through criteria prescribed by the university from time to time.
