Professor E. Vayunandan, M.A. (Public Administration), Ph. D. (Public Administration) has 34 years of teaching and research experience in Open and Distance Education. He has worked in the capacity of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor and Director in the Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi for 30 years from 1987 to 2017 before joining as a Vice Chancellor to Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik from 8 th. March, 2017.

He has contributed to the disciplines of Public Administration and Disaster Management, developing elective courses in Public Administration in Bachelor Degree Program (BDP), Master of Public Administration, Certificate and Diploma programs in Disaster Management. He worked as Program Coordinator to Post Graduate Diploma in Urban Governance as well as M.A. and Ph.D. programs in Public Administration,

He had authored and edited 5 books in open and distance education and guided 4 Ph. D. students in Public Administration. He has published 8 Research Papers and 8 Research Articles in the pear reviewed research journals and books. His areas of research are Administrative Theory, Governance, Labour administration and Public policy. He worked as Director, National ODL Centre for Local Governance in IGNOU, New Delhi.

He participated in many seminar and conferences and acted as co-organizing secretary to the International Conference on Disaster Management, Cooperative Networking in South Asia, Governance and Development: issues and strategies and workshop on livelihood options for Disaster Risk Reduction. He has worked as Member of IGNOU Project Team and Ministry of Agriculture and farmer’s welfare, Government of India on Community Awareness on Disaster Preparedness.

Professor E. Vayunandan is appointed as Vice-Chancellor to Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik for 5 years with effect from 8 March, 2017.
