The Centre for Collaborations and Special Initiatives is a special cell. Started by university way back in December 2010, as per the resolution of the Board of Management with intent to target the groups, deprived of education and help them in uplifting their socio – economic status.
The centre aim is to promote general, vocational and technical employment generating programmes for youth and bring them to main stream of education. The centre is also evaluating and validating the skills by certification.
The Centre for Collaborations and Special Initiatives has developed various certificates and diploma programmes for the target groups. The centre has established coordination and entered in to agreement with various organizations such as Artillery Centre, National Association for the Blind India, Yogabhyasi Mandal and Rambhau Mhalgi Probhodhini Mumbai Etc. Skill development is an important driver to address poverty reduction by improving Productivity and helping sustainable enterprise development and inclusive growth is the ultimate goal of the centre.
The centre has established Dnyanjyoti Savitribai Phule study centre to educate security guard, house keeper and farm laborers working in YCMOU. The centre is also providing skill based employment generating training programmes to the women worker. Mask making, Rakhi making, Sky Lantern making, Earthen lamps. Etc.
The centre has organized personal hygiene workshop for women workers. The centre has also adopted one village in tribal area and establish one study centre for the tribal youth. The centre has organized blood donation camp, vaccination for university employee and workers. The centre for collaborations and special initiatives is working to fulfill dreams of deprived groups of society.
The centre is also educating youths of Naxel affected tribal area of Gondia and Gadchiroli with the Coordination of Superintendent of Police and Commissioner of tribal development Nagpur.
