The School of Rural Development and Entrepreneurship was established in April 2025 with a
firm commitment to academic, research, and training initiatives that contribute to socio-
economic transformation in rural areas. At its inception, the School launched two certificate
programs – Farmer Producer Company Management and Gram Rojgar Sevak Skill
Development – which set the direction of its academic journey. These programs have opened
new pathways for rural and tribal youth, empowering them towards self-reliance, skill
development, and entrepreneurship.
The School operates with the mission of “Sustainable Rural Development through
Education” and nurtures an entrepreneurial mind-set that inspires students towards
employment generation and self-dependence. Rural development is not merely a concept, but
a multi-dimensional process encompassing infrastructure, agriculture, water resources,
industry, self-employment, health, and education. Providing systematic guidance, research,
and training in all these areas is the primary objective of the School.
Currently, the two certificate programs offer learners foundational professional knowledge
and hands-on experience. In the near future, the School aims to design and launch diploma,
degree, postgraduate, and research programs, thus taking academic leadership in the field of
rural development and entrepreneurship. Through modern technology, digital learning tools,
and field-based studies, the School seeks to equip learners not only with knowledge but also
with the ability to develop practical and innovative solutions to real-life problems.
The School’s academic policies are student-centric. Easy access to higher education for rural
and tribal learners, flexible entry rules, and the inclusion of locally relevant subjects in the
curriculum will remain its distinctive features. With a strong focus on skill-based learning
and entrepreneurship opportunities, the School aspires to become a hub for sustainable
employment generation and social empowerment.
In this journey, the School will collaborate with expert faculty, researchers, NGOs,
government departments, and the industrial sector to ensure the holistic development of
learners. By fostering social responsibility, we aim to create skilled and responsible citizens
capable of confidently facing the challenges of the 21st century.
I wholeheartedly urge all students to take advantage of these opportunities, shape their future,
and play a significant role in the development of rural India.
